When Mildred Love decided to downsize and sell her historical Mission Hills home, she knew it would need some work.
The house, which was built in 1913 and expanded in 1987, was beginning to slope toward the neighboring canyon, the roof needed repairs and the skylight had to be fixed.
But instead of trying to renovate things herself or sell the house as is, she hired Renovation Realty. The 2-year-old company is both a general contractor and a real estate broker.
“There’s no out-of-pocket cost to the homeowner,” said Keith Christian, the company’s chairman, who has been renovating and selling homes for 25 years. “We do an inspection, come up with a scope of work, and agree to a sum of money.”
